Site Engineer

Ideally, you are a site engineer with at least 12 months’ experience in a bulk earthworks or civil construction environment.

Company Name: Hick Bros Work Type: Full Time
Work from Home: No

Hick Bros Civil Construction is one of the leading earthworks, civil and infrastructure companies in New Zealand. With a base in Silverdale, our projects span the Auckland region from Warkworth to Beachlands and everywhere in between.

We are driven by delivering our projects on time, on budget and to spec, ensuring we raise the bar on sustainability and safety as we do so.

We place a huge amount of emphasis on maintaining a high-performance culture where our people are valued and want to come to work every day. Our ownership group are industry experts with the experience, knowledge and desire to mentor and develop our people to grow their careers.

We currently have opportunities for site engineers to join our team in both North and South Auckland.

About the Role:
As a Site Engineer at Hick Bros, you’ll work closely with the Project Manager, Site Supervisor and site team to complete projects from start to finish. Working on Land Development projects is exciting and varied and you will get exposure across a wide variety of civil construction works including earthworks, drainage, roading, utilities, services, retaining walls and more. There are also opportunities to get involved in more specialist projects like rising mains, pump stations, sports fields and more. You’ll be working as part of a high level, elite team of people who are experts at what they do, on some of the highest profile projects around Auckland.

Site Engineers play an important role in ensuring our projects are delivered on time, to programme and to budget. Whether you’re sitting alongside the project engineer reviewing plans and developing programmes, on the ground directing/monitoring physical works, or managing QA, your contribution is critical to our success.

We take pride in developing our Site Engineers to progress their skills outside of the physical build and site responsibility of a project, and encourage learning the commercial aspects of contracts such as programs, claims, H&S and QA. This is made possible because we work within a well-structured framework and have a senior team that gives you the freedom to take responsibility for your work, while giving you the training and support you need to progress your career.

What we’re looking for:
Ideally, you are a site engineer with at least 12 months’ experience in a bulk earthworks or civil construction environment. To be successful in this role, you’ll need the following:

Tertiary qualifications (BE Civil, Civil Diploma or equivalent)
Experience in bulk earthworks, (residential, commercial or infrastructure)
Experience in civil infrastructure works (roading, drainage, site works)
Not scared to get your boots/hands dirty and help out the team
