About Us:
As a not-for-profit organisation funded through targeted rates, Silverdale Business is dedicated to promoting the Silverdale area as a great place to live, play, and do business. Our mission is to drive local business and community growth while supporting business owners, employees, and property owners in the area. To achieve our objectives, we provide opportunities for people to connect, communicate, and collaborate with each other. We also advocate on behalf of Silverdale businesses and represent the interests of our members, who include over 1200 business and commercial property owners in the Silverdale Business Improvement District (BID).

Position Overview:
Title: Marketing and Communications Specialist
Reporting to: General Manager
Location: Silverdale, Flexible work arrangement
Employment Type: Part-Time (0.6 FTE), Permanent – 3 or 4 days (24 hours per week)

The Marketing and Communications Specialist will report to the General Manager and work closely with other staff members and community stakeholders to advance the mission and goals of the Silverdale Business Association. This position requires a creative and strategic mindset, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for promoting economic growth and vitality in the community.
You will be responsible for developing and executing marketing, social media, and communications strategies to promote the growth and success of the Silverdale Business Association.

Qualifications:
-Qualification in marketing, communications, or a related field.
-Minimum of three years of experience in marketing, social media, or communications roles, preferably in
a non-profit or community organisation.
-Demonstrated success in developing and executing marketing, social media, and communication
strategies.
-Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate ideas into actionable plans.
-Creative mindset and the ability to develop compelling marketing materials and campaigns.
-Excellent communication, interpersonal, and networking skills.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
-Strong organisational and project management skills, with a focus on delivering results.
-Proficiency in social media platforms, content management systems, and email marketing tools.
-Proficiency in Meta Business/Ads Manager and TikTok Ads Manager
-Knowledge of local markets, customer behavior, and industry trends.
-Familiarity with the Silverdale business community and its stakeholders is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:
Marketing and Communications
Develop marketing and promotional campaigns to enhance the visibility and reputation of the Silverdale Business Association and the businesses it represents.
-Create and manage content for the organisation’s website, social media channels, email newsletters, and other communication channels.
-Plan and execute promotional campaigns to increase visibility and engagement with members and stakeholders.
-Create content and production of monthly publications and regular member communications.
-Work collaboratively with the General Manager and other staff members to develop and execute strategic initiatives and programs.
-Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing and communication strategies and make
recommendations for improvement.
-Foster positive relationships with stakeholders, including business owners, community leaders,
government officials, and other businesses.
-Keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in marketing, social media, and
communications.

Projects
• Lead the Area Branding Project aimed at reducing the geographical barrier among businesses and
fostering a sense of unity.
• Formulate a comprehensive strategy to promote individual businesses in Silverdale, showcasing their
unique products, services, and offerings.
• Develop and execute seasonal and occasion-based marketing campaigns to attract visitors to
Silverdale and drive increased spending in the area.

Events
Represent the organisation at business and community events, meetings, and other functions as needed.
