General Manager of Sales and Marketing

The key areas of responsibilities for this senior role include:
Key leadership, managing and inspiring Sales (Merchandising) and Marketing teams.
Merchandising: managing and coaching the team to achieve optimal results through sourcing, inventory management, promotions planning and optimisations.
Marketing: managing and guiding the team across all owned and paid channels. This includes email, social, web content (SEO); google ads, social ads, marketplaces and other advertising channels.
Report to the CEO (Chief Gorilla) and take ownership of all things sales and marketing including product sales, Primate subscriptions, Mighty Mobile vertical and Jungle Express–Mighty Ape’s own delivery service.
As part of the senior leadership team, you will develop sales and marketing strategies to achieve company desired objectives, owning the sales & marketing budget and delivery.

Key attributes and skills needed:
10+ years of work experience in merchandising leadership and marketing in retail/online/wholesale.
3 or more years of recent work experience directly in an e-commerce retail company.
3 or more years of experience in paid advertising such as Google search and other performance marketing channels.
A proven successful senior leadership role of 5 or more years.
Minimum of Bachelor degree in a business related field.
Track record of growing sales revenue and a good understanding of managing sales and inventories.
Experience managing team financials with budget, P&L ownership.
Experience overseeing all other marketing channels including social media, email and other direct response/company owned channels.
